You Demand Too Much of Me
a persistent sensor sculpture

What began with a simple musing, 'Does Art within a Digital Space, exist if its not being observed', led to a simple project that explored the persistant nature of Second Life.

'You Demand Too Much of Me' is a sensor / time based sculpture, that decays whilst it has an audience. The Blocks that make its whole, disappear in a number equal to the number of avatars in the presence of it, until non exist. When the sculpture is left alone, it slowly reappears one block at a time, repairing itself back to its whole, a visual metaphor for consumption.

The title of the work, refers to a period of burnout in my past, when too many things were going on.
So its a reminder, sometimes I need to say 'No'
