The Long Shot (LS) is great for group converstation framing. The spacing between the characters can reflect their status to one another, and reactions and hand movements can be seen during the performance. In this particular shot, you'll notice some space above the head and below the feet, this spacing is referred to as safety room and means the characters have some freedom to move in shot without having to re-frame. It can also make the shot more visually appealing.
